Feeling the Funk
Taylor and Kyle’s vintage wedding at The Highland Manor in Central Florida was feeling The Funk and had a vibe all its own. Taylor’s classic wedding dress and funky decor, mixed with quirky and witty details made this wedding one we will NEVER forget! Additionally, this vintage wedding made us re-discover our love for mirrored disco balls.

Highland Manor Wedding Ceremony + Reception
Taylor and Kyle had a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony on Highland Manor’s lawn under their grand oak tree. This beautiful Florida tree shaded the entire wedding party and wedding guests. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests headed to The Highland Manor for the wedding reception. The Highland Manor is a historic private event Victorian-styled venue that’s a staple of Apopka, Florida, and within the Central FL wedding industry in general.
Guests were greeted with an After The Tone red vintage telephone to leave messages for the couple. As well as a retro backdrop featuring a record player and records. Also, the reception tables had vintage records as chargers. The couple’s sweetheart table was adorned with disco balls, red and pink roses, white orchids, and “cobra” rattan chairs with a neon sign announcing the newlyweds: The Funk’s!

White Rose Entertainment Delivers The Funk
White Rose Entertainment brought in a standard-sized disco ball on a rotating stand. Using up-lights made that disco ball glow and throw mirrored light beams throughout the entire reception space! The Funk’s danced their first dance as husband and wife to “I’m Gonna Be (500 miles)” by Sleeping At Last. Once dinner, toasts, and first dances commenced, this wedding took on a life of its own on the dance floor!

Funky Wedding Details
Almost every seat was empty as Taylor, Kyle, their guests, and I DO crew slid across the dance floor, belted out their favorite songs, and enjoyed the cake! The top of the cake was adorned with a bride of Frankenstein and a groom. Using strategically placed glass jars on the wedding bar, guests were encouraged to vote using cash on who should have cake smashed in their faces. While their cats’ faces were printed on party props for the end of the evening. This Highland Manor Funk-y wedding had it ALL! The Funk’s enjoyed one last private wedding dance before their exit!
Hilariously fun signs framed their walk out of the venue quoting the famous wedding ceremony scene from the cult classic, The Princess Bride! Finally, at the end of this walkway awaited a vintage car for the newlyweds to drive off into their forever. Basically, this retro wedding made us feel the Funk at Highland Manor!
